Don’t Ever Rely on My Betting

   Posted by: lightfinger   in Politics

I have been moving blog posts from my Blogger account to WordPress in anticipation of an official ‘opening’ of my politics-only blog here, and I just came across my post from November 7, 2007.

I quote:

My prediction:

After Iowa and New Hampshire, we’ll be down to four Republicans:

Rudy Guliani, Mitt Romney, Fred Thompson, and Ron Paul

I honestly think Huckabee and McCain will show so bad in both, they’ll drop out.

Boy, did I miss the boat on THAT prediction. The four we ended up with were McCain, Huckabee, Romney, and Paul. My reasons for Huckabee and McCain falling out were the reasons Guiliani and Thompson dropped.

I did predict the Democrats, though. Edwards and Richardson did not drop out for a little while longer, while Obama, Clinton, and Kucinich stayed until the end.

This about mirrored the horse track betting I engaged in at a holiday party (it isn’t a Christmas party unless it is held after Thanksgiving). Five races, the highest my horse ever got was third and one was so bad, the horse scratched on the way to the gate.

Hm…kind of sounds like the RINO crowd that is more concerned with their own political aggrandizement rather than principles. They scratched before they even got into this horse race called Election 2008 and did not even know it.
