‘No Mas’ for Hamas
For as long as I remember (which is all the way back to the 1973 conflict…which is saying something as I was 5 then), I have been a supporter of Israel’s right to not only exist, but to exist where they are located and in peace. However, even though they have tried to live peacefully, the Muslims that claim to be ‘Palestinians’ have denied this right.
First, let us be honest with the truth – something those like Hamas do not want the world to hear or believe – British Palestine was created after World War I’s defeat of the Ottoman Empire. After World War II, Britain, in order to dispose of a number of their colonies like British Palestine, split the land into two parts. The first part was what is now Israel. The second part was what is now Jordan and the West Bank. Gaza was a part of Egypt.
Israel was in a fight right from the start in order to survive. Meanwhile, Jordan kicked the more radical elements of their country to the literal curb, the West Bank. They wanted to put the undesireables between them and Israel, then proceeded to treat the inhabitants very shabbily, but used propaganda to make it look like it was Israel’s fault.
In 1967, Egypt, Syria, and Jordan decided to try and wipe Israel out. In response, Israel beat the snot out of all three. In the process, they occupied a buffer zone around themselves. From Syria, they took the Golan Heights. From Egypt, they took not only Gaza, but also the entire Sinai peninsula. Lastly, from Jordan, they took the West Bank and inherited all the radicals Jordan had kicked out earlier.
Israel would not have needed the buffer if it wasn’t for the fact the Arab states had to have a convenient scapegoat to mask the oppressive regimes running their various countries. Israel, from the outset, just wanted to be left alone but no one would allow them to do so.
Fast fowarding to today, we see that Israel has allowed the West Bank and Gaza to become almost another state. Unfortunately, the two organizations that lead this land are both terroristic in deed, but Al Fatah, the old PLO, has decided that though it wants to get rid of Israel in the end, it isn’t going to happen for a long time. Thus, ruling and trying to improve the ragtag populace of the West Bank and Gaza has become more of a priority. Hamas, on the other hand, wants to continue to fight and is being goaded to do so by those Muslims who want to see the rise of a united Caliphate.
You may have seen this word a few times, so let’s explain: It is a core belief by a number of Muslims that all of the Muslims will unite into one state and eventually convert or kill all the unbelievers in the world. In fact, a number of different factions believe this, going all the way back to the original Assassins and the Old Man of the Mountain. The president of Iran, Ahmadenijad, is a Shiite follower of this belief. Osama Bin Laden is a follower as well, but from the Sunni position. The rulers of Saudi Arabia have made this a core belief behind their Sunni rule. So, a lot of Muslims believe this tenet.
Hamas is being backed by these folks, as is Hezbollah in Lebanon, the Taliban in Afghanistan, and others that can all be labelled as ‘Islamic terrorists’ by the press who refuse to talk about this belief in the rise of the Caliphate. These folks represent the worst aspects of Muslim beliefs – the oppression against women, homosexuals, modern lifestyle and technology beyond guns, etc. They believe in the phrase "convert or die". Because of this, they cannot be negotiated with, and never ever will they follow the mantra of liberal America: "Can’t we all just get along?"
Many Muslims do not believe in this philosophy, and it is unfair that they get grouped up with them because the Caliphate-types are so vocal and violent. In many cases, if the ‘moderates’ do attempt to speak out, the Caliphates will murder them in cold blood. This form of intimidation is another point to be taken into consideration.
Israel, the West including the United States, and countries with other religions, such as India, China, and Japan, are going to have to grow a backbone and put the clamps on the Caliphate types. Israel is making the first progress in a long time towards this with its attacks on Gaza and Hamas. George W Bush understood this when he went into Afghanistan and Iraq after Caliphate-backed terrorists destroyed the World Trade Center. Backing off, like how the socialists want to do, only encourages more violence.
I wonder if the atheist socialists understand that under a Caliphate, their lives are forfeit? That their lifestyles cannot happen, and that homosexuality is not only discouraged, but is a capital offense? That alcohol drinking is illegal, as is educating women in any fashion?
Irregardless, the only way to stop the violence is by retaliation with violence when dealing with these people. No quarter should be given. Like the title says, ‘No Mas’ – No Mercy is the only way they can be dealt with, and though it saddens me that we have to resort to such, it has been shown time and again that it is the only way.
