‘No Mas’ for Hamas

   Posted by: lightfinger    in Terrorism

For as long as I remember (which is all the way back to the 1973 conflict…which is saying something as I was 5 then), I have been a supporter of Israel’s right to not only exist, but to exist where they are located and in peace. However, even though they have tried to live peacefully, the Muslims that claim to be ‘Palestinians’ have denied this right.

First, let us be honest with the truth – something those like Hamas do not want the world to hear or believe – British Palestine was created after World War I’s defeat of the Ottoman Empire. After World War II, Britain, in order to dispose of a number of their colonies like British Palestine, split the land into two parts. The first part was what is now Israel. The second part was what is now Jordan and the West Bank. Gaza was a part of Egypt.

Israel was in a fight right from the start in order to survive. Meanwhile, Jordan kicked the more radical elements of their country to the literal curb, the West Bank. They wanted to put the undesireables between them and Israel, then proceeded to treat the inhabitants very shabbily, but used propaganda to make it look like it was Israel’s fault.

In 1967, Egypt, Syria, and Jordan decided to try and wipe Israel out. In response, Israel beat the snot out of all three. In the process, they occupied a buffer zone around themselves. From Syria, they took the Golan Heights. From Egypt, they took not only Gaza, but also the entire Sinai peninsula. Lastly, from Jordan, they took the West Bank and inherited all the radicals Jordan had kicked out earlier.

Israel would not have needed the buffer if it wasn’t for the fact the Arab states had to have a convenient scapegoat to mask the oppressive regimes running their various countries. Israel, from the outset, just wanted to be left alone but no one would allow them to do so.

Fast fowarding to today, we see that Israel has allowed the West Bank and Gaza to become almost another state. Unfortunately, the two organizations that lead this land are both terroristic in deed, but Al Fatah, the old PLO, has decided that though it wants to get rid of Israel in the end, it isn’t going to happen for a long time. Thus, ruling and trying to improve the ragtag populace of the West Bank and Gaza has become more of a priority. Hamas, on the other hand, wants to continue to fight and is being goaded to do so by those Muslims who want to see the rise of a united Caliphate.

You may have seen this word a few times, so let’s explain: It is a core belief by a number of Muslims that all of the Muslims will unite into one state and eventually convert or kill all the unbelievers in the world. In fact, a number of different factions believe this, going all the way back to the original Assassins and the Old Man of the Mountain. The president of Iran, Ahmadenijad, is a Shiite follower of this belief. Osama Bin Laden is a follower as well, but from the Sunni position. The rulers of Saudi Arabia have made this a core belief behind their Sunni rule. So, a lot of Muslims believe this tenet.

Hamas is being backed by these folks, as is Hezbollah in Lebanon, the Taliban in Afghanistan, and others that can all be labelled as ‘Islamic terrorists’ by the press who refuse to talk about this belief in the rise of the Caliphate. These folks represent the worst aspects of Muslim beliefs – the oppression against women, homosexuals, modern lifestyle and technology beyond guns, etc. They believe in the phrase "convert or die". Because of this, they cannot be negotiated with, and never ever will they follow the mantra of liberal America: "Can’t we all just get along?"

Many Muslims do not believe in this philosophy, and it is unfair that they get grouped up with them because the Caliphate-types are so vocal and violent. In many cases, if the ‘moderates’ do attempt to speak out, the Caliphates will murder them in cold blood. This form of intimidation is another point to be taken into consideration.

Israel, the West including the United States, and countries with other religions, such as India, China, and Japan, are going to have to grow a backbone and put the clamps on the Caliphate types. Israel is making the first progress in a long time towards this with its attacks on Gaza and Hamas. George W Bush understood this when he went into Afghanistan and Iraq after Caliphate-backed terrorists destroyed the World Trade Center. Backing off, like how the socialists want to do, only encourages more violence.

I wonder if the atheist socialists understand that under a Caliphate, their lives are forfeit? That their lifestyles cannot happen, and that homosexuality is not only discouraged, but is a capital offense? That alcohol drinking is illegal, as is educating women in any fashion?

Irregardless, the only way to stop the violence is by retaliation with violence when dealing with these people. No quarter should be given. Like the title says, ‘No Mas’ – No Mercy is the only way they can be dealt with, and though it saddens me that we have to resort to such, it has been shown time and again that it is the only way.

#DontGo Continues

   Posted by: lightfinger    in #dontgo

The #DontGo Movement started back in August, when Congress went into recess before deciding on the fate of offshore drilling in order to bring energy costs down and allow the United States to become more self-sufficient.

It is a few months later, but those of us who have joined up with #DontGo in a more official capacity continue to move forward.

I was given the task of the Northwest Coordinator for News Platoon, a project of #DontGo. News Platoon wants to go down to the grassroots, the real grassroots, and report on the issues that you care about locally. Bloggers from the various states are being asked to contribute to the News Platoon sites being developed, in order to get the real story out there beyond what the mainstream commentators and media report. In the Northwest, this means I have the following states: Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Washington, and Wyoming. I will be acting as a regional editor for these states, pushing stories up to the national site as well as doing the normal editor thing.

Each of those states, however, also are going to have an editor, reaching out to the bloggers of a conservative and libertarian persuasion, in order to get their stories. This is where we need, and I specificially could use, your help. I would like for all of you reading this to take a look at http://tennessee.newsplatoon.com and see an example of what we are planning for every state. Then, please go to http://dontgomovement.com or contact Eric J Odom or myself if you can commit an hour a week or so in either editing for your state, or writing an article a week for your state on the issues that concern you within your state. After the beginning of the new year, we will also schedule a regional conference call so we can talk about what is going on in our region of the country.

Liberals have made gains in many of the states of this region, so we need to unite to get the word out about those issues that concern you at a more local level. With the knowledge of these issues, and a number of other bloggers available to give backing to your voice, we can all benefit.

Take, for instance, the controversy mentioned in my previous post. If we had the resources that you can help contribute towards, those in the Republican National Committee would be innundated with reasons why Rebuild the Party, #TCOT, and other initiatives are important to the future of the Republican party. By reporting liberal initiatives towards global warming and other boondoggles, we can shine the light of truth upon them, and in many cases stop them in their tracks. Using this platform, we can get out the truth about people such as Sarah Palin and her policies in Alaska, and stop the liberal lies slandering her.

Please look into joining us at #DontGo and NewsPlatoon.com.

RNC Chairman Controversy

Posted by: lightfinger    in Politics, Twitter

A few of you may know there happens to be another election on January 28th. In this case, this election is for the Chairman of the Republican National Committee. Unfortunately, for the rank and file, we do not have a vote. The vote will be conducted by those members of the National Committee that were selected in each state.

In Nebraska, those delegates are De Carlson and Pete Ricketts. From my knowledge of both, which I admit is rather spotty, Pete is a younger conservative that is the target demographic for the Rebuild the Party initiative. De is not of the digital generation.

Where the controversy comes in is in the candidacy of the current chairman, Mike Duncan. Many advocating the Rebuild the Party initiative are of the mindset that Duncan has been part of the problem, and thus should not be selected to continue as party chairman. I admit I have a similar mindset. Unlike others, though, I have no pony in this horserace. If Duncan can prove he ‘gets it’, I would really not have a problem with him continuing.

The problem comes in with a call by Michael P Leahy for Duncan to withdraw from the race. Leahy, who is the organizer of the Top Conservatives on Twitter list and TCOT Report website has a number of initiatives to try and draw on that grouping. I was part of the conference call where Leahy said he was going to make a post against Duncan, so I knew this was coming. Leahy, though, went the wrong direction in his call for Duncan to withdraw from the race. Leahy bases much of his argument in the fact many of the committee members are not tech savvy, and thus would vote for Duncan as the status quo. So, Duncan should back out.

This is the absolute wrong reason. What needs to happen is not for Duncan to back out of the race, which he has every right to join, but the committee members who are technically deficient need to be dragged into the 21st Century. If you are going to attack Duncan, attack him for his inaction, his invisible status on the Sunday morning talk shows, his wasted initiatives. Don’t call on him to resign because the voters may be stupid – we did not educate the voters and their stupidity got us Barack Obama. Educating the voters needs to be the emphasis.

In calling for Duncan to back out, Leahy looks like the media pundits that kept calling for Clinton to back out of the primary against Obama. That is not the right way to do things.  I am not calling for another candidate, Katon Dawson, to withdraw because he has not endorsed Rebuild the Party, but I am posting every so often via Twitter for him to explain why he has not. That’s the approach to take, not burning the good credit you have built by setting up #TCOT with a poor argument for resignation of one of the candidates.

A Solution to the Primary Mess

   Posted by: lightfinger    in Politics

Let’s all be honest. The way we have the primaries in this country suck. By the time it got around to my state, I had two choices – McCain and Paul. I didn’t have a chance to support Romney, Huckabee, Thompson, or Hunter, or any of the others. It was all decided a month before I received my chance to choose, and honestly…that’s not right.

 Here is what I propose:

  • Primary Season lasts 12 weeks, starting the first week of February and lasting until the end of April, approximately.
  • Each week, five states vote, with an extra number for the territories/Puerto Rico in one of the two ‘gap’ weeks in the schedule.
  • States vote in Reverse Population Order.
  • Gap weeks occur before each of the two last set of states (the most populous ten), in order to allow more campaigning before the primaries involved.
  • Voting will be restricted to registered members of the party only. No independents or crossovers. If you want a voice, you have to commit to it.

So, what would this mean?

First, we would not get situations where those running for office feel compelled to dive out of the race.

Second, we have time for opponents to research each other, since the news media will only research to destroy a candidate they do not like.

Third, the smaller states feel like they can make a difference, though the big states are still the deciding factor.

Lastly, it shortens primary season by almost a full three months. The first primary happening in the beginning of January, and ending in June is ridiculous.

Under this plan, theoretically you could move the conventions up an entire month, and thus giving us another month to evaluate not only the general election candidates, but their vice presidential selections.
