PATS is a ‘hero’ team that only advances the goals of “progressive” organizations. In essence, they are the ‘good’ side while the Black Liberation Front is the ‘bad’ side. Jeff Williamson uses the group to garner good public press in order to make the progressive agenda look saintly. Also publically, Williamson uses them as his personal, metahuman bodyguards.
