Omorose Maga, Radio Talk Show Host

Maga is a polar opposite to Conway’s approach to radio. Maga is loud, abrasive, and confrontational. Maga was a supporter of the tyrannical government from the beginning, embraced their full agenda, and was rudely disappointed when they were recalled and defeated. Maga despises anything touched by Lightfinger, and focuses her attention in trying to make him look like an enemy of the people. She has, by and large, failed in her quest, but she is persistent if anything.

Digby Conway, Radio Talk Show Host

Conway is one person who believes completely in the vision expoused by Lightfinger when he began the rebuilding of New Market. Conway has made it his crusade to make sure all others in the city, as well as the rest of the country listening into his radio program, understand and embrace the vision like he has. He is not abrasive, and is in fact very professional in his demeanor. If he didn’t have time limits on his show, he’d sit and talk for hours to persuade a caller to his point of view.

Seth Herrick, TV Anchorman

Herrick is no where near the ego of any of the national broadcasters out there, but then, he is not all that far off. With the conflicts in the city, Herrick has become the voice of New Market, and he knows it. He is keen on keeping his position as top dog, making sure he gets exclusive interviews and other considerations that keep him in the spotlight. Herrick was instrumental in the promotion of Hanoharo as reporter, as Herrick feels he is not a threat.

Fatu Hanoharo, TV Reporter

Hanoharo was always fascinated with television. When he was unable to secure an acting job out of school, he went back for his masters in journalism. Even after that, a lot of stations would not hire him until the rebuilding of New Market. With a number of stations, both radio and television, needing new personnel, Hanoharo was hired as a lesser beat writer. However, Hanoharo distinguished himself as a tireless reporter and was quickly promoted up to the lead investigative reporter. It is no surprise if at any major fight or event in the city, Hanoharo is spotted with his crew, getting the meat of the story.

Henrik Kononen, AFL-CIO

When your position is guaranteed by the mafia, one can get complacent. Kononen is such an individual. For a number of years, Kononen has been the front man for the mob’s control of the city’s labor force. As such, his entire goal is to keep his position and continue to skim off the profits of union pensions and deals. He does not truely care about the workers he is supposedly representing. However, the threat of a free and open city to unionization has made him more active, recently, in trying to prevent election of liberty-minded politicians.

Inesh Sadashiv, Fire Chief

Sadashiv was given his position after the second destruction of New Orleans. Resented due to his nationality being similar to the conservative Governor, Sadashiv has decided to allocate and run the fire department as his own personal fiefdom. He has ignored many orders from the mayor and the council, and is seen by many as a loose cannon. However, since he’s been in his position, fires have been tended to in a prompt manner that has allowed him to keep his job despite the problems he has caused with his independent streak.

Leah Ben-Menachen, Checkmate

Ben-Menachen has not led a charmed life, but she does the best as she can with what she’s handed. When she was assigned to one of the most anti-Semetic cities in the United States, she took it in stride. Ben-Menachen did not make it to the city before its destruction. Since then, however, she has very publically tried to ally herself with the vision of Lightfinger and has worked to help the city to the best of her ability, despite their not wanting her presence. The United Nations opposition to Lightfinger has made her position very tenuous. If the United Nations appoints someone new, it is very likely she will quickly find employment at Lightfinger Enterprises.

Marcello Bassaro, Primus

Bassaro’s family was always tied to the New Orleans Mafia, who used to rule the city with an iron fist. However, Bassaro did not want to follow in those footsteps, as he idolized the heroes helping the citizens around the country. Since he had no powers, he instead decided to go through the police academy. He was such a model student, he caught the eye of the United States federal agency tasked to monitor superheroes and villains. Bassaro rose up through the ranks and was recently assigned to New Market as the chief agent in residence.

Osei Tambo, Public Defender

Tambo believes criminals are all products of the system. He uses the resources of his office to fight against ‘the man’ who continues to oppress. This has made him very popular with the criminal element in the city, as well as the lower classes who are oblivious to the truth of the matter. Tambo despised Stevens particularly, and the DA’s crusade to clean up the city. Tambo sees it as just more racist oppression.
