Welcome

Tea Party One Year Anniversary

On February 27th, 2009, I participated in the very first tea party event nationwide. Through what was then called the Dont Go Movement, and with only 4 days to organize, we had over 30 people show up and had Pete Ricketts speak on the ridiculous spending in the Stimulus bill.

47 days or so later, on April 15th, and after handing over control of the tea party in Omaha to the newly forming 9:12 Movement, over 1,000 people came downtown to show our displeasure at the way government was taking away our money to pay for their largess.

That first little tea party was cold, was spitting snow, but I did the best I could with my little meager resources. I'm no fundraiser, and I am not a politician. I'm loud, but I'm not one to make phone calls begging for votes, or to beg for money. In fact, I avoid it. I don't organize big events normally, as someone always thinks they can do better than me and eventually takes over.

But, I do have the ideas. I do give that initial push to get the ball rolling. In this case, I am proud to have been the one to start that ball in Omaha and Council Bluffs. Others can have the glory, as I know what I did.

Before, and for a while after, that tea party, I had a weekly show on Blog Talk Radio. That disappeared, as I did not have many listeners. Again, I'm not one who can go out and hype up something. But again, I know I helped make a difference.

It is now one year later. All my predictions about Barack Obama have come to pass. Everything he claimed he would do - be transparent, not raise middle class taxes, cure unemployment, get rid of the Patriot Act, remove Don't Ask/Don't Tell, and not fund abortion - all were lies. Lies woven with the elegance of previous people of his ilk - Castro, Pot, Stalin, Lenin, Mussolini, and Hitler. All lied to their people, as Obama has done.

I honestly can't say this country will survive in its current state until the elections of 2012, when we can get rid of the monstrosity that the American people foolishly followed to victory. By then, we could be having food or water riots, massive inflation, and a defacto police state where elections are 'suspended'. But, I do know I won't be the only person standing for our freedom in the dark times that may be coming.

Thank you, all.
